What is counselling?

A safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and challenges
A chance to be heard without judgement
Support from a trained professional

How long is a session?

50 minutes for individuals
60 minutes for couples

How often do I need to come?

Most people start weekly
We’ll review together what works best for you

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your goals and situation
Some people come for a few weeks, others for longer

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes — I work both online and face-to-face

Is everything confidential?

Yes — with the following exceptions where I have a legal or ethical duty to act:
If there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else
If I am required to disclose information by a court
If you share information about certain criminal activities (e.g. terrorism, money laundering, drug trafficking)
I’ll explain these limits clearly at the start so you know exactly where you stand.

Do I need a GP referral?

No — you can contact me directly

What if I don’t know what to say?

That’s okay
Part of counselling is finding the words together

How much does it cost?

My fee for all sessions is £70 for individual, £85 for couples. I charge £70 for supervision sessions.
If you cancel a booked session with less than a week's notice, the fee remains payable unless we can rearrange the session within the week it was booked for.

My location

I work with individuals and couples aged 18 and over, usually on a weekly basis or twice a week at my practice in Dawlish, South Devon or Online. My clients typically come from Dawlish, Exeter, Newton Abbot, Topsham and the surrounding area of South Devon, but you are welcome to contact me wherever you are based. I work online with clients based in other areas of the UK.
